There isn't going to be much involved with this post tonight due to a massive thundercell that stalled right over the beautiful plantation we are camping in. Well..."camping" probably isn't quite the right word and will undoubtedly cause all of our more knowledgeable readers to rise up as one and cry, "Foul!" Perhaps a re-start will be in order - There was a gynormous thunderstorm over our current place of residence here in the Louisiana Bayou country and it prety much knocked the heck out our internet connection so you're going to get the abbreviated version of today's events. As you can see from the pictures we did the French Quarter and the Garden District of New Orleans. It was incredible, wonderful, unique and has definately gone on the list for a longer visit to this whole area. The heat index, which is a measure of the combined effect of temperature and humidity was well over the 100 mark and both Wick and Barry were just great big puddles of sweat. It didn't keep us from eating our way through various recommended eateries but it sure didn't make it easy to try to get all those meals in such a short period of time. Look carefully into the crowd in the picture taken at the fabulous Cafe Du Monde where we were having begniets - do you see the little guy way in the back? I honestly think he was the most New Orleans thing we saw - he is perfect right down to his seersucker suit and red bowtie! Fabulous I tell you. For all our cop relatives I've included a picture of one of the motor units from NOPD - yep! It's a Vespa - think about that one guys! The old graveyards were amazing, the Garden District beautiful and so gracious and we simply didn't have enough time.
Tomorrow we are on the way to Mobile, Alabama.
