Close Encounters of the Bovine Kind

Okay folks, since Scott was so concerned about potential abduction of the parental figures, tonight, we are going to demonstrate the REAL THREAT to the Tourbus Adventurers' "safety."  The story will be told in a series of three videos celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Wick's 21st Birthday.  Let's just say he had a close encounter of the bullish kind.

Now it was my opinion that this bull had a suspicious look in his eye and he was after all -- "fully equipped" -- as it were.

We hung back until a pair of unsuspecting birders came along and walked right past this big bull, then, with me in close pursuit my big brother walked way out through the pucker-brush and around that big bull.

Well, as crazy as it sounds this wasn't the end of the bovine threat.  We were in the best birding spot in North America with a whole herd of uncastrated cattle.  The one hiefer was snow white, had horns and pretty surly disposition.  She was dead ahead of us on the trail and initially seemed to give way.  She hadn't gone more than two or three steps before she reconsidered and decided our little band of birdwatchers would need to move.  Barry, Gwen and I complied immediately and took a more suitable route.  Now, whether Wick wasn't pay attention or just thought he could take the horned menace, we don't know but the next thing we saw was Wick vaulting over a huge log just off trail and doing this little skippy dance run away from the surly heifer.  I tell you, if I'd have had my camera out it would be a whole new story....
