Today we set out with the express purpose of upsetting Scott. The plan was to head South until he began to yelp and holler about how dangerous our journey was becoming. Since we were having no luck with the bird thing we decided to take a few pictures to torment the kids with....

There were several birding areas with warnings regarding areas one shouldn't visit. There were detailed explanations of which federal agency was monitoring what. Perhaps one of the most fearsome warnings dealt with an area in which Homeland Security had buried pressure sensors and would call Border Patrol. Hmmm...I wonder how that would go over?

Well, we figured this was as good as it was gonna get with Birding being a bust and all but decided we needed to change tactics and see if we couldn't spot one of the rare cats that are sometimes seen in the area. We hiked and sweated and hiked and swatted and turned the corner on the trail and whoa there Nellie! HALLELUJAH!!!
