Warning! Not for the Feint of Heart or Queasy

Okay, so I don't want to hear from any of you later that you WERE NOT warned about the following video.  We were at the San Diego National Wildlife Preserve just down the road from our campground and got to see some truly amazing things, not the least of which was feeding time for the non-releasable resident Bald Eagle.  Warning!  If you have any affection for rats or any difficulty with intestines, you might want to bypass this little treat:

Now this was actually a pretty cool little jaunt.  Yesterday we toured an exhibit created  by an Oregon high school art teacher who had collected items that had washed up along Oregon beaches and crafted them into some amazing sculptures.  It was pretty sobering (and not just a little smelly) to see the sheer volume of discards on only one state's beaches.  My kids better get ready to be pressed into dish washing service 'cause I think this spells the end of plastics at my house!

We may look happy, but I'm here to tell you this fish from beach
garbage smelled...well...like a fish from garbage.

Today we headed for the famous San Diego Zoo which is just one of the coolest places on the planet.  Also, there is nothing quite like Spring at the zoo if you follow my drift....At any rate we saw lots of cool things including several animals new to us, the big cats were very active and we marched our way into permission for cookies with our domino game tonight.

Barry, Beth & Gwen on our zoo adventure

Red Panda (kind of an amazing little guy)
My favorite picture of the day though was this little Broad-Billed Hummingbird.  He was just gorgeous and intent on tearing around the aviary at about 100 mph.  Not kidding, the keeper told us they've been clocked at 93mph!!  So beautiful.

Got this shot my very own self!

Now lest you begin to think the day was all fun and games...STOP!  Don't read another line without preparing yourself to hear about the nefarious activities of my dearly beloved and trusted family members who, unbeknownst to me, collaborated in a not so nice take-down of the Domino Champ.  I don't think it can be coincidence or even just bad luck that I lost EVERY single hand of dominoes played for 12 count 'em, 12 rounds!  I don't care who you are!  How does that even happen?!!? The evidence of my victimization is recorded below:
